The Department of Agronomy of the University of C\u00f3rdoba (UCO), the G\u00f3mez-Pintado Foundation and Plantae are carrying out a study at the Finca la Pontezuela on the behaviour of different olive tree varieties in low rainfall conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study consists of observing the growth of the plant and measuring different humidity parameters periodically, all monitored to see the possible tolerance of the olive tree varieties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PLantae<\/strong> <\/a>colabora en las mediciones, supervisadas por nuestro Director del Departamento de agronom\u00eda, Emilio Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, con sondas la humedad y conductividad del suelo. Intentamos comprobar la resistencia al estr\u00e9s h\u00eddrico de las distintas variedades de olivos, “12 variedades extranjeras procedentes de Marruecos, T\u00fanez, Italia, Grecia, Turqu\u00eda, Siria e Ir\u00e1n, y tambi\u00e9n de Espa\u00f1a<\/strong>, en un total de 5 hect\u00e1reas de terreno”. Todas las mediciones se acompa\u00f1an con datos clim\u00e1ticos, para acompa\u00f1arlos al estudio que hace la Universidad, dirigido por Carlos Trapero<\/strong> del departamento de Agronom\u00eda de la Universidad de C\u00f3rdoba. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project has been running since October 2023, initiated with the sponsorship of the G\u00f3mez-Pintado Foundation, being a pioneer in Spain.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

La Finca la Pontezuela, with its President Juan Antonio G\u00f3mez-Pintado, expresses his gratitude for the Project with the following words: \u201cThis is the first time that a research project of this nature has been carried out in Spain, uniting a public university and a company, and which aims to study the adaptation of olive grove varieties from other countries to climate change for their subsequent implementation in our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
