It is not the same as genetic engineering that studies the manipulation of genes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the RAE (Royal Spanish Academy) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Biotechnology<\/strong> is the use of living cells to obtain and improve useful products such as food or medicine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Transgenic<\/strong> is a living organism whose genome has been modified by adding exogenous (external) genes to achieve new properties.
