{"id":85377,"date":"2022-06-20T18:34:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-20T16:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/?p=84226"},"modified":"2024-04-22T13:22:26","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T11:22:26","slug":"la-agricultura-en-argelia-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/en\/la-agricultura-en-argelia-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Agriculture in Algeria-Improving quality and quantity with probes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Given the Mediterranean and warm climate, Algerian agriculture has more and more probe-controlled irrigation, both traditional and intensive crops and greenhouses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Importance of Agriculture in Algeria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"483\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Agricultura-en-Argelia-con-sondas.png\" alt=\"Agricultura en Argelia\" class=\"wp-image-84246\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Agricultura en Argelia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Algeria has about 9 million hectares of agriculture and about 900,000 hectares of irrigated land, which is increasing. The installation of greenhouses is also increased due to its high profitability. It is the largest country on the African continent, 2.38 square kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Of the crops that we find in Algeria we highlight:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cereals: wheat, oats, barley, corn and rice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Olive, almond and pistachio trees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fruit trees such as apple, pear, mango, apricot, peach, citrus and others. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vegetables, highlighting the artichoke, many in a greenhouse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vineyards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Figs, the fourth producer worldwide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Watermelon. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strawberry greenhouses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cotton and tobacco.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agriculture in Algeria depends more on the climate than on the relief. It is Mediterranean in the northern fringe, humid and warm in summer with cold winters. As we go into the country it is warmer and drier with large areas of desert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this reason agriculture is fundamentally in the north, both traditional and intensive and greenhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The olive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">One of the most important crops in Algerian agriculture is the olive tree (50,000 hectares) and its oil production, especially in <strong>Bug\u00eda and Kabylia<\/strong>. It is the most abundant tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Algeria seeks a prominent place in olive oil production along with Spain, Italy, Greece and Tunisia. It is also important in the production of table olives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The type of cultivation is traditional and increasing intensive and super intensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The oil it markets is fundamentally virgin, extra virgin and refined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vineyards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the 7th century there are indications that Algeria has vineyards. But its extension begins in the middle of the 20th century, reaching 350,000 hectares of vineyards along the entire strip of the coast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Due to difficulties in its export, the number of hectares was reduced due to the regulations of France, which is its main buyer. Currently there are about 77,000 hectares, most of them trellised, prepared for mechanized harvesting and controlled by the public sector. The areas of <strong>Or\u00e1n and Constantino<\/strong> stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They have obtained the denomination of origin mark and the majority for export.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading translation-block\">Agriculture in Algeria monitored with <a href=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/en\/sensores-en-argelia-en-vinedos-y-frutales\/\" target=\"_self\">probes<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agri-food sector needs aid for technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">First <strong>increase the areas of technified irrigation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Also <strong>promote the control of humidity and conductivity by probes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Promote the <strong>implementation of more greenhouses<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Finally <strong>improve infrastructures for import and export<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Plantae already has <a href=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/en\/sensores-en-argelia-en-vinedos-y-frutales\/\" target=\"_self\">sensors in Algeria in vineyards and fruit-trees<\/a>.
