Tienen reconocida la Denominaci\u00f3n de Origen y su comarca est\u00e1 reconocida c\u00f3mo &#8220;Bien de Inter\u00e9s Cultural (BIC) desde 1973&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> We are going to discuss probe controlled irrigation and its influence on quality and quantity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cultivation of cherries and picotas in Spain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cherries and picotas are grown in a temperate climate, with Italy and Spain being the main European producers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After peaches and apple trees, the cherry tree is the most abundant in the Peninsula, highlighting the cultivation in the Communities of Aragon and Extremadura. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dentro de Extremadura tenemos la denominaci\u00f3n de origen de las <strong>&#8220;picotas del Jerte&#8221;<\/strong> reconocidas por su calidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"866\" height=\"448\" src=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Produccion-de-cerezas.png\" alt=\"Cerezas y picotas en Espa\u00f1a\" class=\"wp-image-81784\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Cherries and picotas in Spain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cherries and picotas from Jerte<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The cherry is the fruit of the cherry tree and the <strong> Jerte picotas <\/strong> are a characteristic variety of the Jerte Valley that naturally shed its peduncle, which makes them different from cherries at first glance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the Jerte pillories are crunchy in texture and very sweet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Picotas are slightly smaller than traditional cherries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its cultivation dates from the seventeenth century and its quality is due to the characteristics of the area, a valley between mountains of 2000 meters of altitude and with irrigation from natural springs. The situation of the Jerte valley means that the winters are intense and the cherry tree has guaranteed cold hours. The mild springs due to the situation in the valley and thus the flowering does not have the risk of late frosts that could harm the fruit set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The varieties of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Black beak.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ambrun\u00e9s.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lemon pick.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Red beak.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Irrigation controlled with probes in the cherries and picotas of the Jerte<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cherry tree withstands low temperatures well, needing around 1000 hours below 6\u00ba for germination to begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We can control the cold hours with the Meteo Plantae station and thus know when the buds begin to rise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the fruit setting, a degree of humidity is necessary and that frost does not occur.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The cherry tree is sensitive to excess moisture in fruit growth. It can crack the pulp and cause its loss.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plantae humidity sensors and probes allow humidity control in all phases.
