The temperature of the surface layer is transmitted upwards to the air, and downwards to lower layers of the soil and to the subsoil, damping rapidly especially downwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Water, an essential resource in plants, can be a scarce good on many occasions, so many crops depend on irrigation. A new study shows that the temperature of the soil influences the way in which the plant acquires this resource.
