{"id":71659,"date":"2019-10-07T16:52:43","date_gmt":"2019-10-07T16:52:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/?p=71659"},"modified":"2024-04-18T16:34:51","modified_gmt":"2024-04-18T14:34:51","slug":"sensores-en-argelia-en-vinedos-y-frutales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/en\/sensores-en-argelia-en-vinedos-y-frutales\/","title":{"rendered":"Sensors in Algeria in vineyards and fruit trees"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading translation-block\">Our humidity sensors become international, they conquered the south of Portugal and now the north of <strong> Algeria in Benchicao (M\u00e9d\u00e9a) <\/strong>.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sensors in Algeria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The entrance to this country has been thanks to the involvement and collaboration of the agronomist <strong> Axel Torrej\u00f3n <\/strong>, of Chilean origin but living in C\u00e1ceres, and a great expert in woody crops, especially cherry. Together with the Plantae engineers, the installation plan was drawn up on a 600-hectare estate of vineyards, plum, cherry and apple trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The farm is located near the city of Benchicao in the province of <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mda\" target=\"_self\"> <strong> M\u00e9d\u00e9a <\/strong> <\/a>. <u> <\/u> <u> <\/u><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>40 sensors have been placed measuring at two depths, at 20 cm and 50 cm in vineyards and fruit trees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These farms are advised by professional technicians from different countries: France, Algeria and Spain, although the installation carried out, references and technical study came from the hand of Axel Torrej\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The climate in northern Algeria makes it necessary to install sensors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The northern part of Algeria in which we work has a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong> The need for controlled irrigation <\/strong> in the summer is basic for quality control, product quantity, water saving and energy saving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong> The salinity problem <\/strong> is also important because it is a coastal area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong> Sensor control <\/strong> indicates in real time the humidity of the crop and this means that we can control irrigation and this has a positive impact on three fundamental factors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Water stress is avoided.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It considerably reduces the accumulation of salts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water and energy are saved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"451\" height=\"800\" data-id=\"76561\" src=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/DSC_0180-rotated-e1608919790144.jpg\" alt=\"T\u00e9cnico de Plantae instalando sensores en Argelia\" class=\"wp-image-76561\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Plantae technician installing sensors in Algeria<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"451\" height=\"800\" data-id=\"76280\" src=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Mango-argelia-rotated-e1608561121240.jpg\" alt=\"Sensores en Mango\" class=\"wp-image-76280\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Humidity and conductivity sensors \/ probes in Mango<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Algerian agriculture needs a technological boost to expand its commercialization. <a href=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/en\/which-display-our-clients-of-moisture-sensors\/\" target=\"_self\"> The technology Plantae <\/a> applied to the control of humidity, temperature, conductivity and salinity is simple and easy to apply for the farmer. We want to bring a bit of technology to the vineyards with the M\u00e9d\u00e9a designation of origin and to the fruit trees in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Influence of sensors on water stress<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As irrigation is more controlled and continuous, it ensures that the plant receives the water it needs at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this way we avoid water stress, that is, the imbalance between the water that the plant needs and that which is provided to it. The salts do not evaporate and accumulate around the wet bulb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The concentration increases if irrigation is not controlled and the irrigation interval is very far apart and there is excess evaporation due to the heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This forces intense washing that causes the salts to accumulate in deeper areas and depending on the type of terrain it can generate an accumulation problem that damages the crop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ideal is a control that allows the plant to have the necessary humidity and less evaporation occurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The type of terrain must also be taken into account. Washing is less necessary and the land has a much higher fertility for much longer, because excess salinity is not produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fruit trees and vineyards are sensitive to saline stress.
