We are going to dedicate this article to lettuce, its varieties <\/a> and its care. <\/strong> It is one of the latest crops that bets on our Plantae humidity sensor technology <\/a> <\/strong> > applied to drip irrigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is one of the most used vegetables in the daily diet. It accompanies meats, fish, eggs and is a complement to multiple salads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lettuce varieties<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  • The Roman: <\/strong> one of the best known and most used. Long and crisp leaf.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Lollo rosso: <\/strong> reddish in color and more rounded. Curly shape. Widely used to color salads.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Escarole <\/strong>: more rounded and curly in appearance. more bitter taste than the previous ones. It better withstands the cold when growing it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Green or red chicory: <\/strong> is quite bitter and can be eaten raw or cooked. Its season in winter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • French: <\/strong> sweet and tender taste like buttery with an intense green color. Round shape.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Iceberg: <\/strong> is round and light green.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • Oak leaf <\/strong>: curly and purple. Very tender.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Arugula <\/strong>: Small and green leaves. Somewhat bitter. Abundant in summer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Canons <\/strong>: small dark green leaves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Endivia <\/strong>: elongated and with a bitter taste. It should not be washed before eating or it will make it more bitter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Summer wonder <\/strong>: Rounded and one of the most tender.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Buds <\/strong>: similar to Roman but smaller. Typical of Tudela.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Lettuce roots are abundant and short compared to the development of the leaf. It is therefore sensitive to the lack of humidity and does not resist drought. But the excess of humidity causes the appearance of fungus. Therefore, controlled irrigation is very important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The temperature should be medium or high and have many hours of light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The lands should favorably be frank, because they get less waterlogged. Row planting is important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
