The province with the most hectares of production between dry land and irrigated land is Teruel, although the largest olive farm is in Zaragoza, in Campo de Belchite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/hectareas-de-olivar-aragon.jpg\" alt=\"Hect\u00e1reas de olivar en Arag\u00f3n\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Areas and varieties of the olive grove in Aragon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The olive grove in Aragon is in its three provinces, but it is Lower Aragon that stands out in terms of number of hectares and in production, especially oil from the mill. It is important to note that there are 104 oil mills that last year have achieved a virgin oil production of 12,000 tons according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Somontano en Huesca<\/strong>: variedades &#8220;Arbequina&#8221; , Alqueracerana de la zona de Alquezar, Verde\u00f1a y otras variedades.<\/li><li><strong>Bajo Arag\u00f3n en Teruel y Zaragoza<\/strong>: la variedad es &#8220;Empeltre&#8221; aut\u00f3ctona de esta zona. Olivos centenarios en tierras calizas y secas. La denominaci\u00f3n de origen &#8220;<strong>Aceite del Bajo Arag\u00f3n<\/strong>&#8221; garantiza su calidad. Tambi\u00e9n encontramos la variedad Arbequina.<\/li><li><strong>Belchite en Zaragoza<\/strong>: variedad &#8220;Empeltre&#8221; con producci\u00f3n de aceite virgen extra. Tiene <strong>ruta tur\u00edstica<\/strong> para ver muchos olivos centenarios.<\/li><li><strong>Sierra del Moncayo en Zaragoza<\/strong>: con variedades Arbequina, Verdial, Empeltre, Negral y Royal. Con la denominaci\u00f3n de origen &#8220;Sierra del Moncayo&#8221;.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading translation-block\">The most productive areas of the <strong> olive grove in Aragon <\/strong> are:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"607\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/mapa-del-olivar-de-Aragon-2.jpg\" alt=\"mapa de olivar en Arag\u00f3n\" class=\"wp-image-76913\"\/><figcaption>Map of approximate distribution of olive groves in Aragon<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vineyard areas and designations of origin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aragon is a land of vineyards with more than 36,000 hectares of cultivation and its four denominations of origin:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Cari\u00f1ena<\/strong>: en el valle del Ebro y con 16.000 hect\u00e1reas. La variedad m\u00e1s com\u00fan la &#8220;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Garnacha_(uva)\">Garnacha tinta<\/a><\/strong>&#8221; para tintos con unas 15.000 hect\u00e1reas y la &#8220;<strong>Viura<\/strong>&#8221; para blancos. Tambi\u00e9n la <strong>Cabernet&nbsp;Sauvignon,<\/strong> rica en taninos y muy apreciada para tintos.<\/li><li class=\"translation-block\"><strong> Calatayud <\/strong>: in the southwestern part of Zaragoza with about 5,400 hectares where the <strong> Tempranillo <\/strong> variety stands out.<\/li><li class=\"translation-block\"><strong> Somontano <\/strong>: located in Huesca with the red grape variety <strong> Cabernet Sauvignon. <\/strong><\/li><li class=\"translation-block\"><strong> Campo de Borja <\/strong>: northwest of Zaragoza with 7,400 hectares, highlighting the <strong> Tempranillo <\/strong> variety.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The varieties of Macabeo, Garnacha blanca and Chardonnay are also important for white grapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Oleotec 2019 objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oleotec 2019 in Zaragoza is a must for professionals in the wine and oil sector, agents of the olive and vine market and professionals who present the latest developments in technology and logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Different workshops are offered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How to deal with climate change.<\/li><li>New materials to preserve and bottle wine.<\/li><li>Applications of drones to agriculture.<\/li><li>Crop water stress.<\/li><li>On-line commerce.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Plantae will be present at this fair, attracting new customers and making the <strong> vine and olive grove sector in Aragon <\/strong> known the <a href=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/en\/\" target=\"_ self \"> <strong> humidity sensors <\/strong> <\/a> for irrigation control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In addition to the olive grove in Aragon there are other crops with precision irrigation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Plantae technology has already reached this Community. We have installed sensors to <strong> olive, alfalfa and almond trees <\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In alfalfa, sprinkler irrigation controlled by humidity sensors is very profitable in the short term, because it saves much more water than with traditional edge irrigation. In addition, the amount of humidity it has at all times is controlled and production increases. Alfalfa endures drought but its production decreases considerably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/ant.plantae.lavallweb.com\/en\/el-almendro-en-espana-variedades\/\" target=\"_self\"> <strong> almond trees <\/strong> <\/a> irrigation is very important in the growing season of the almond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">All irrigated crops increase their production with controlled irrigation.
