Probes in berry

Probes in berry crops (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries) help optimize irrigation and fertilization management, leading to better crop yield and quality. We can monitor soil and environmental conditions in real time, making it easier to make accurate decisions.

Probes used in berry cultivation

We will achieve water and energy savings, in addition to avoiding water stress in the berries.

  • Soil moisture probes: We measure the water content in the root environment, allowing irrigation to be adjusted according to the exact needs of the plant. With optimized irrigation, the risk of diseases related to excess moisture, such as root rot, is reduced. Blackberries and raspberries are particularly sensitive. Strawberries require deeper moisture, because their root system is more developed.
  • Conductivity probes: They measure the concentration of soluble salts in the soil, which hinders good absorption by the roots, to which all berries are very sensitive. Blueberries are especially sensitive to salinity.
  • Soil Temperature Probes: Very important for root development and microbial activity. This can affect nutrient uptake and overall plant growth.

All information is collected by a solar-powered hub/receiver that sends the data to the platform in real time.
