The Department of Agronomy of the University of Córdoba (UCO), the Gómez-Pintado Foundation and Plantae are carrying out a study at the Finca la Pontezuela on the behaviour of different olive tree varieties in low rainfall conditions.
Olive tree behaviour in low rainfall
The study consists of observing the growth of the plant and measuring different humidity parameters periodically, all monitored to see the possible tolerance of the olive tree varieties.

The project has been running since October 2023, initiated with the sponsorship of the Gómez-Pintado Foundation, being a pioneer in Spain.
La Finca la Pontezuela, with its President Juan Antonio Gómez-Pintado, expresses his gratitude for the Project with the following words: “This is the first time that a research project of this nature has been carried out in Spain, uniting a public university and a company, and which aims to study the adaptation of olive grove varieties from other countries to climate change for their subsequent implementation in our country.”
